SCAD + THE MILL
Shooting
September 20th
We went to Tybee Island to shoot the advertisement campaign; we left Montgomery Hall at 5 am to film for sunset at the beach. We all helped with filming and taking the HDRIs of the plates that will help us do the CGI integration of the elements. During the shoot, we had some troubles with the sunrise simulating the sunset, lighting the camera, and taking some of the HDRIs that will allow us to improve for our second shoot, which is coming this week.
Filming during sunrise also presented a challenge because we had a short amount of time to film and take all of the HDRIs and references we needed in order for everything to look together and clean. This was a disadvantage, but at the same time, the colors of the plates are beautiful and really helped us to enhance the story and the product enjoyment.
Another thing we need to be more careful about is what our mentors mentioned about the sizes of CGI elements; for our second shoot, we need to work more carefully with measuring and calculating references, especially for the big boat scene we are developing.
