SCAD + THE MILL
Lense Dirt and Other Fixes...
This week, I enhanced the shots and cleaned the dirt off the lens as requested by my mentors. I also stabilized the last shot and highlighted the green from the sprite. For this process I used a rotoscope so the colors will match and this is one of the easiest clean up techniques because it has a steady color and there are no changes on the image, so I decided to solve it the easy way for all three shots. I also used feather to blend it better and used a transform node to place the roto where it is suppossed.
For the stablizing of the shot I did a track on one of the most contrasty places on the sand and then hit a stablize, then I expand the plate a little bit so that I don't have any black spaces. Then I roto the can and bring up the grade, for this process I used nuke and then I changed again to da vinci, using EXRs so I don't loose quality. After that, I checked all of the plates and color match everything with minor twicks. The color correction for the full short film was a mix in between Da Vinci and Nuke. Finally, I also changed the rotation of this plate, because the can was angled it so it was straight on the product shot, because it was a little tilted, and the product needs to look right.
I also worked on the composite for the other 2 shots, updated the condensation and all of the new passes everyone provided for me. I worked on elevating the compositing for all of the shots and updating the final video. The only shot I will describe is 030_020 because that one had the most changed and you can check it out on my next entry. For the drone shot I did my best to color corrected to match the rest but do to technical difficulties from the FX artist, I did not have the oportunity to compose this shoot deeply.
